Collected souls are Fury’s way of leveling up, but if she falls, those souls are lost. ![]() Learning enemies’ attacks is key to winning any battle, even against the simplest of foes. Bad timing and even direction can mean a very quick death. Trial and error can make quick work of a boss that initially seems unbeatable. Don’t expect any obvious tells or HUD indicators for when you need to dodge. Fights are designed to be tough and the world unforgiving. It’s a cliche comparison, but one that Darksider’s III earns in full. If Darksiders had a Legend of Zelda feel and Darksiders II leaned more on the loot aspects of games like Diablo, then Darksiders III pulls heavily from Dark Souls. Too often in games, death means very little, and I’m not talking about the horseman. There are some great moments, whether it’s between Fury and her Watcher, or the horseman and the stunningly designed bosses that she encounters. The voice acting and character design are all classic Darksiders. There’s a little bit more depth to this character, even if it does take some digging to get there. She’s in this for no one but herself, but when she gets pulled into the celestial deception that framed her brother and ended the world, all bets are off the table. Telling Fury’s part comes down to her own fiery personality and bond with her horse. One worries about how to retell the same story from three different perspectives. ![]() The only ways around this i can think of is to have strife reveal a melee weapon which he has not before or to have him lose his pistols and have to take up other weapons.Darksiders 3 Review – Fury’s various “hollow” forms will change her hair color and abilities.įury’s story does get quite a bit more interesting than the synopsis might betray. however i don't know how they will go about game play for strife as his main weapon is obviously his pistols and I don't think anybody wants DS 4 to be a 3rd person shooter. To the topic of the thread though I don't think it would be fair to simply have a strife dlc at all and as said before there is a big story to be told with strife as well. In contrast i feel that DS 3 is lacking a lot without these elements. Personally i never felt that the game was "padded" either i really enjoyed the long dungeons and carefully checking for loot. Regardless of a story standpoint, Gunfire and THQNordic will want to challenge themselves with creating a fun game for strife.ĭamn I really disagree with the opinions about DS 2 I loved the RPG systems i think it added a lot to the game especially if you were playing on a harder difficulty where a good build would really go a long way not to mention the fun combat abilities that death unlocks which you don't have a counter part to in DS 3. It seems like he knows more than any other horseman in the series, and it's obvious that he'll tie the series together for the fifth game. I'm not sure what you mean by being the worlds best support? He's a powerful horseman in his own right.Īh the 4th game is gonna be about strife and the 5th one about all four,i'm saying it's gonna be a waste to make a game about the weakest horsemen now but whateverĪll evidence points to the contrary, his pistols have helped both death and war and he was watching from the shadows in the third game, he's had more story than any other horseman outside of their respective games, and they've been building him up since the first game, even in the comics and novels. To be honest, it doesnt make sense to have a fully fledged story with 2 horsemen and then half ass the other 2 with dlc's. Of course its not going to be on par with the others, but Im happy that the franchise was picked up again. The 3rd title was made with a limited budget.
